About Mangrovedopsi

“Empowering people worldwide to play an active role in environmental protection by adopting and planting mangroves in vulnerable coastal areas.”

What is Mangrovedopsi?

Mangrovedopsi is a foundation dedicated to restoring and protecting mangrove ecosystems while raising awareness about their crucial role in coastal protection, biodiversity, and climate resilience. What started as a university project has grown into a committed initiative focused on mangrove adoption and ecosystem restoration. Mangrovedopsi focuses on:

  • Rehabilitation and expansion of mangrove forests – Restoring degraded coastal areas to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem resilience.
  • Climate change mitigation and adaptation – Strengthening coastal defenses against rising sea levels and extreme weather conditions.
  • Community engagement and livelihood improvement – Supporting local communities by involving them in restoration efforts and providing sustainable economic opportunities.
  • Increasing awareness of the importance of mangroves – Educating individuals, organizations, and policymakers about the vital role mangroves play in a healthy environment.

In collaboration with KeMANGI, a specialized organization in Indonesia, Mangrovedopsi currently facilitates the planting of mangrove trees in Semarang. While this is our primary planting location, the goal is to expand to other regions in the future. By supporting Mangrovedopsi, you directly contribute to the health of marine ecosystems and the protection of coastal communities.

KeMANGI

KeMANGI offers a program allowing individuals, institutions, and communities to participate in mangrove rehabilitation through adoption. This initiative focuses on environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, coastal protection, and ecosystem sustainability. By adopting a mangrove, you contribute to protecting and restoring vital coastal ecosystems, enhancing biodiversity, and supporting local livelihoods.
